The Sliver of the Mountain is an ode to our founder’s childhood memories of growing up in Africa and playing with rough malachite stones. “I was mesmerised by the patterns and galaxies I would find in these stones as a child, and wanted to create a Modern Heirloom that brought me back to this childhood excitement of play.” - RM. In Dante’s “Divine Comedy”, it is forbidden to move up the mountain of Purgatory during the night hours. The Sliver of the Mountain is an invitation to take time for rest and play. Hand-cut in a tactile Alighieri shape, it can be worn it can be worn face-up, or backwards, to reveal just a hint of colour through an aperture of molten gold.
